Leap day part one: Hogle Zoo

Leap day was so fun for us! During the winter months Hogle Zoo has a free day every last Tuesday of the month. February was the last one so we went with our awesome cousin Catherine as well as Mercedes, Lucy, Cole, and their friend Missa and her two kids.
Even though the sun was shining it was still pretty chilly so we made sure to overdress instead of under dress. It was a good choice!
All the animals were so active. We loved it. The little elephant ran all over chasing his mom and playing with the balls. It was cute and we watched him for a long time.
Lucy and Aiden playing with the gorilla. Aiden must have been making a gorilla noise or something.
Hugs for mister gorilla.
The tigers were mostly sleeping but we did get to see them shift and yawn and one of them got up and walked all the way up the hill to find another sleeping spot.
Catherine and I turned around to see Aiden and Emily walking hand in hand. So cute!!
Johnny joined them after just a little urging to make an even cuter threesome.
Then we added cute little Sarah to the chain but Aiden had no interest in waiting around for her. He wanted to keep moving!!
This was the closest we could get to a posed picture. Still super super cute!
Lucy, Cole, and Aiden watching the tiger take a nap. He had some BIG yawns!
There's nothing really special about this picture, but it's what happened about ten seconds before that I want to remember. Aiden had climbed on the rock then immediately turned around to help Lucy up. He grabbed her hand and her arm and boosted her all the way up the rock just like a little gentleman. I wish I had been farther up the stairs behind them to catch it on camera!
Aiden loved the giraffes. His arm is moving so fast in this picture because he'd go up to each one and wave as fast as he could and yell "Hi Graffe I Aiden!!"
Aiden and Lucy racing under the stairs.
Indee joined them and they stood against the wall for a while before taking off running again.
Aiden's crazy face as he went towards Cole made me a little nervous....
....but I guess Cole didn't mind being hoisted into the air. Aiden is doing that all by himself!
It was such a fun day at the zoo and even though it was cold we were so happy to go!!
