Anyone who grew up in Utah County should remember going to the Crista Mcauliffe space center in elementary school. It was AWESOME! So when we found out that Thanksgiving Point was hosting a new "travel size" space center, we thought we should get a group together and go! We got the date night special price plus 10% off with our membership so it was great! Nate and Paige brought two friends and of course Tyson and I went. This one was tiny. It was in the back of a semi truck and we thought it wouldn't be nearly as cool as the real space center until we went in and realized how amazingly they used the space.
They gave us a "mission" and we became the crew of the spaceship and had to figure out how to solve whatever problems the story line gave us. We made all the decisions and hoped we wouldn't die! It was a completely blast and brought back so many good memories. The aliens were just as scary and it was just as intense trying not to die! A couple of us even went home with a few good battle wounds because we had to run in a panic from the aliens haha! After the mission was over the guys in charge told us they'd love to us to come back for free sometime in the next month to test out a new mission and fill out a survey about it. We were more than happy to go for free! This time we got together a different group that included me, Tyson, Nate, and Paige again, but also Wendy, Kimberly, and two more of Nate's friends. The second time wasn't quite as awesome because they were trying out a new way of running the mission and it didn't seem to go as smoothly. We were confused a lot of the time and didn't make as much progress towards our goal. It was still lots of fun though and we're glad we did it!
| It's really hard to tell but this was the end of the truck with a few of the computers. I guess it's the only picture we took. Oh well. |
| The group of the second mission: Jeremiah's date (can't remember her name), Jeremiah, Gine, Tyson, Paige, Nate, Kimberly, and Wendy |
How fun! Randy's always saying we should get a group and go to the space center at Central. I didn't know Thanksgiving point had one too.
