Tulip Festival 2011

Mmmm could there be a prettier place to live next to?
Hasn't this been a beautiful week? This Wednesday Aiden and I were lucky enough to spend an entire day at Thanksgiving Point with Grandma and Grandpa. Like I've said a million times before, we love it when they come to our house and visit. Of course the day they picked was still sunny, but it was also pretty windy so we still had to wear jackets most of the day. It's ok though, it was still so so fun! We started out at the tulip festival and spent several hours enjoying the sun and beautiful flowers and landscaping.
This is proof that everything is coming up late this year. They extended the festival a whole week and still there are spots with unbloomed flowers.
Aiden LOVED feeding the fish.
On the far side of the fish pond we noticed an entire family of geese (6-7 babies) wandering around and dipping some webbed feet into the pool. We walked over to see them with Aiden cock-a-doodle-dooing the whole way. I should teach him that not all birds say cock-a-doodle-doo, but it's just too dang cute to correct him most of the time.
I spy with my little eye...can you find Aiden peeking out the window?
Aiden was more than happy to climb all the way up the lighthouse ladder all by himself.
After getting a good fill of the gardens we headed to the TP deli for lunch then walked down to the farm. Aiden took off running once again but this time was super brave and touched every animal he could reach. The cow, two calves, and a colt were all his new best friends before we had been there even five minutes.
This was the only picture I could catch of Aiden being brave. He didn't need any prompting to tub their heads and I loved watching it!
We had to show Grandma and Grandpa how big Aiden is to ride all by himself. He's pretty mad in the picture cause it was after the ride and the pony had stopped. He was trying to get it to go and trying to tell me he wanted to keep going.
We also got to pet the tiny little day and a half year old goat. He was so so cute! We loved watching him prance around and jump on the rocks.
