I found an adorable costume idea for Aiden, Lucy, and Cole on pinterest so one day before Halloween Mercedes and I got together and got busy making them. They were inexpensive and simple and gave us plenty of creative liberty. Aiden was Fred Flinstone, Lucy was Wilma, and Cole was BamBam. (Yes I realize BamBam is in the Rubble family...)

| The cute boys posing to make sure the costumes would fit. |
| Aiden was so excited to show Dad his new costume after it was done! |
One weekend we went down to the pumpkin walk thing down at Riverwoods. It was pretty dang cold but lots of fun!
| Posing with the Charlie Brown pumpkins. |
| There was a huge line of awesomely carved pumpkins but this one caught Aiden's eye the fastest. Haha boys will be boys right? |
| This pumpkin is totally creepy but I thought it was so cool. I've never seen a white pumpkin like that. |
| Playing pin the face on the pumpkin. Aiden was so confused about having a blindfold on his face so the lady just let him look to do it. |
| After each little activity Aiden got a treat or a prize. Usually he'd go for the candy but he thought these vampire fangs were pretty awesome. |
| There was a little cage with animals to pet. These tiny ponies were adorable but for some reason Aiden was so scared of them. It cracked me up because he rides the BIG horses at the farm all the time no problem. I guess no fence and no leash freaked him out. |
| This rabbit was HUGE! The picture doesn't do it justice but it was probably fifteen pounds! |
After Sunday dinner at Gma and Gpa Peterson's house one night we got to decorate sugar cookies. Aiden got to color the frosting, frost his cookies, and carefully place sprinkles. He concentrated so hard the entire time and was very proud of his end result.
| Well his concentration was a bit interrupted when he realized he could eat the frosting. |
| Like father, like son. Carefully placing sprinkles in just the right spot. |
Halloween night we planned to go to Lucy and Cole's trunk-or-treat but Aiden had a rough day, missed his nap, and fell asleep in the car on the way there so we missed it. They had already gathered enough candy and cold to feel like they were done for the night so we convinced them just to come see my family and show off the costumes before the headed home.
| Aiden was so excited to trick-or-treat at Grandma's house! |
| I think he was a little surprised at her costume for a minute but then he thought it was so funny. He even pointed out how her makeup didn't match haha! |
| "At this house we roll the dice and then you choose a prize from the numbered bucket." I'm pretty sure Aiden knocked on the door enough times throughout the night that he got one of each thing. |
| The most adorable Wilma I've even seen! |
| And the cutest BamBam! |
After Lucy and Cole went home we took Aiden around the neighborhood to do some trick-or-treating of his own. He loved it! After each door he would stop on the sidewalk, put his bag down, look inside to see the candy, exclaim "WAOH I have so much candy!" or "WOAH it's getting fuller..." and then immediately yank his bag up and yell "let's go get some more!" as he sped down the driveway. It was hilarious every time and never got old!
Uncle Nate and Aunt Paige came trick-or-treating too! Then of course Aiden took them back outside to show them how to REALLY do it (and so he could get another prize haha).

| When Aunt Wendy came over Aiden was more than happy to have a photo shoot with her while they were in their costumes. Adorable! Wendy and her roommates had dressed up as an 80s jump rope team so she taught Aiden some double jumping tricks. He still tries to do it every now and again with whatever sort of jump rope he can find! |
It was a great Halloween! Aiden is at an age that makes all the holidays so much more fun! They have been every year since we've had him, but now that he really is starting to understand what's going on it brings and incredible life back into everything. I love it!!
The kids look so little and it was only a couple of months ago!! Those costumes were so fun and they turned out great! I'm so excited for this year (hopefully we'll still be here!!!)
