Nate and Paige had signed a contract at some BYU housing but their contract didn't start until three weeks after their honeymoon. They didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for one of those week by week hotels and were going to live in my parents' basement. Lame. They were willing but really, what newlywed couple wants to live with the parents? While they were gone, my mom happened upon a basement apartment in her mom's ward. It's a nice old man who was looking for a nice young couple to live in the basement and help him take care of the house. He was willing to work with them on the price to make it worth giving up their BYU apartment. We took over all their wedding gifts and some fun decorations to surprise them with a newly decorated apartment when they got back. It was so fun but it made me a little jealous that they get to start off in a house (even if it's super old) instead of a cinder block apartment like we did. :)

These are the blocks we got to put in Nate's room after his mission. We thought they'd be a fun addition to the newlywed apartment.

This is the quilt Grandma Benson made for Nate when he graduated. She probably cried when she saw it on their bed haha. :)

I love these little lovey monkey pillowcases.

This beautiful bouquet was made by the awesome neighbor who also hosted the reception in her yard and did all the decorations.
Nate and Paige were so confused and surprised but have been happy in their great little apartment. They have had some "fun" surprises including spiders, snakes, and floods, but I think it will give them some great stories to tell once they get into a bigger better place in the future.
